Esthetic preview

See the smile.Then prep.

Smile Design is a digital try-in for anterior cases. The patient approves the look before you commit the mouth — which is how esthetic cases get accepted, not hoped for.

Close-up of an anterior smile

The sequence

Five moves. No surprise at the chair.

Natural smile designed to the face
  1. 01

    Photograph

Two frames: a natural smile, and a retracted smile. That is the face we design to.

  2. 02

    Scan

An intraoral scan — or impression — of the unprepared teeth. No prep yet.

  3. 03

    Send

Upload photos and the scan through the doctor portal. We open it in CAD the same day.

  4. 04

    Overlay

Our designers compose the new smile on the photograph — midline, lip line, and proportion locked to the face.

  5. 05

    Try-in

You approve the design. We print a model and a putty matrix so the patient can wear the proposed smile over their own teeth.

The try-in sits over existing teeth, so it works when the proposed smile is fuller than what is already there. After approval, we send a reduction guide for the prep.

What you get back

A preview the patient can believe.

Face-aware CAD

Not a generic wax-up. Designed to the patient’s lip line, facial and dental midlines, and the interpupillary line.

Chairside try-in

A printed model and putty matrix. The patient sees the proposed smile before a bur touches enamel.

Prep with a guide

Once they say yes, a reduction stent keeps the preparation honest to the design you already approved.
